Recovery Services
Are you like Ontrack or Reynolds? Answer
No. IPS will refer you to one of those highly reputable companies in the event that the drive is mechanically flawed. The recovery services that IPS provides are specifically
taylored to small businesses and investigational issues.
What recovery services do you provide?
Answer IPS generally gets involved in the recovery of data lost as a result of the following things:
- Accidental deletion of files.
- Employee sabotage (IPS also offers a complete array of investigative services).
- Boot failure caused by damaged drive management software, failed defragmentation, crashed scandisk, etc.
- Virus, worm, trojan attacks on boot sector etc.
- Operating System failure.
IPS has a very high recovery rate in these matters and in many cases the recovery can be done on site.
How long does it take? Answer
Data recovery is a highly complex and unpredictable process. The speed and results of the recovery are highly determined by factors including proper partitioning, formatting,
system documentation, etc.. IPS will do everything in its ability to speed the recovery through. Some recoveries are complicated by viral attacks, and configuration issues. IPS does not like
to fail. Sometimes when the problems are very complex the fee for the time necessary to complete the job would exceed the client’s means. In this event if IPS deems that the
knowledge gained by the completion of the job will be sufficiently valueable to all of IPS’s clients, IPS will absorb some portion of the time without payment. In this event the job will no
have priority status. IPS must make money in order to survive. This does not mean that the job is not important, it just must be balanced with the other obligations
